Mission Statement

The mission of the Mequon-Thiensville School District, an active partnership of staff, school board, parents, and community, is to create an educational environment that will motivate our students to develop the skills and attitudes necessary to become life long learners and successfully meet future opportunities by:

  • Providing a challenging curriculum that will meet the needs of all students,
  • Offering a diverse selection of co-curricular opportunities that enhances the
    educational experience,
  • Providing an environment where cultural and personal diversity is understood and
    accepted,
  • Protecting our community's long-term investment through prudent financial and
    facilities management.

District Goals 2007-2012

Goal 1:
 The Mequon-Thiensville School District will continually evaluate and improve its curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment tools so that all students demonstrate academic growth relevant to our ever changing world.

star Goal 2:  The Mequon-Thiensville School District will continually embrace a shared leadership model, which supports the growth of educational leaders including: faculty, staff, administration, parents and community.

star Goal 3:  The Mequon-Thiensville School District will continue to foster, from a local to global perspective, a climate that honors diversity and goodness as well as shared goals and values.

  Financially Responsible

star Mequon-Thiensville is one of only six (6) school districts in the state to
receive a “Aaa” bond rating from Moody's. “Aaa” is the highest rating a
school district can receive from Moody's.
star The 2010-2011 tax levy (-.31%) was one of the lowest in the area.

  Advanced Curriculum

star Mequon-Thiensville offers 6 years of Spanish, French and German. The
District also offers 4 years of Latin.
star Instructional Media Specialists support teacher literacy and technology
needs in every school.
star Many classrooms are supplied with SMART boards, LCD projectors and
other tools to assist 21st Century student learning.
star Mequon-Thiensville offers a world-class fine arts program for students
grades K-12.
star Homestead High School had a district record 17 National Merit Finalists in
2009-10.
star Homestead High School Class of 2010 had the highest ACT composite
score in the State of Wisconsin last year - 25.9.
